Whitewashed and perfect
I am starting 2020 on a clean slate. And what does clean mean?
White.
As white as snow.
Before all other trends come in, I am inspired by winter’s gift – snow.
I’ve been checking out a lot of white designs lately. I didn’t really look out for them, it just spoke to me. Come to think of it, white is such an easy colour to wear unless you are eating spaghetti, then please be careful of the sauce ricocheting onto your white outfit. Other than that, it makes an amazing casual outfit and you could double it up as workwear.
With that in mind, I went on to Shopbop – yes, I always can rely on them for the latest and most gorgeous styles. And behold, great minds think aline because a new wave of white pieces just came in!
Here’s what I am totally crazy about this month.
Shoshanna Andora Dress
I can see myself wearing this every other day. I love how the sash cinches the waist and how the frills flow out at the bottom to give it a natural hourglass shape. I am not really into clothes that show off too much this season and I think this shows off just enough leg and still maintains an innocent outlook.
WeWoreWhat Basic Overalls
Overalls were much celebrated as a micro-trend last year. However, I could not bring myself to like it. No matter who wears it, and even if they are in an ‘in-trend’ hue, I can’t help but feel the urge to invite them over to my house to fix the electricity and the pipes. However, I really love this overall. Dress up with a shiny top and classy heels or take it down many notches by pairing it with a tee and sneakers.
Malone Souliers Clara Booties 85mm
My first thought was… OH MY GOSH, sexiest booties ever! Would I buy it? YES, but I’ll have to have a magic eraser in hand to rub off stains that it might pick up. Maybe I’ll just buy them so I can look at it and feel happy about it.
Azeeza High Neck Long Sleeve Mini Dress
I love everything about this dress. It kinda reminds me of Rihanna’s dΓ©colletage-baring red dress she wore to the ‘Valerian’ European premiere in 2017. This, of course, is more acceptable on the streets. I love the high neck, sheer puffed sleeves, and the flair – this piece is art!
BY FAR Ball Bag
When you have your outfit down to a tee, I always believe that you need an item to throw it off-course. One way to do it is to introduce a statement bag. This, I white bag with a big yellow ball is a geometric addict’s dream. Probably not as functional as a mom bag, but I’ll pick this any time.
Do you have whites in your closet other than the staple crisp white shirt? I think it is time to play with neutrals and all whites as much as we are encouraged to play with colours. White on white is something we should all attempt to dress in from time to time. I am in this white phase of my life right now. Are you picking up the vibes?
