New year resolution 2023
Another 365 has gone by, and a new year has started. I will not deny it, but I feel like time is slipping away daily. It constantly scares me that what if I can’t achieve all the goals I’ve set out for my life and time runs out?
I know, it’s strange to think about something like this at the start of a brand new year. I should be grateful for everything I’ve accomplished and look forward to every day that goes by. But I can’t help thinking, what if?
A year has 12 months, which makes, on average, 365 days.
A month has, on average, four weeks, and a week has seven days.
A day has 24 hours, an hour has 60 minutes, and a minute has 60 seconds.
In a lifetime, you have about 50 years (taking away the first ten years and probably the last ten years) of “active life”, which makes up 18,250 days. It’s not a lot. And so far, of that 50 years, I’ve spent about 10,220 days of my time, with approximately 8,030 days left. Of the time we have, half of which we’re asleep.
Anyway, my point is not to make anyone depressed but to highlight that a lifetime is relatively short. Unlike everything else, It’s one asset you cannot earn. Once it’s gone, that’s it.
So, yes, you do have time but think of what you want instead of wasting it. Think of the important people. Think about what you want to achieve. And stop just thinking, do something about it.
Stop thinking there’s tomorrow cause tomorrow never comes.
My goal for 2023 is to do more.
1. To be more independent.
2. To travel more.
3. To make new friends.
4. To work on my goals.
5. To do things just for me.
Remember, you only live once, so make it worthwhile.
