From “Google it” to “ask ChatGPT”: The evolution of how we search.

A few days ago, I had an intriguing conversation with Chloe about how our approach to finding answers has dramatically changed. We reminisced about the days when “Google it” was the ultimate solution to every question. But now, more often than not, the advice we hear is, “Have you tried asking ChatGPT?

This shift has been so significant that it even sparked a conversation online. Anne Jannier, a designer, captured the moment perfectly in a recent LinkedIn post:

“Before you got: ‘Google it! Google’s your friend.’ Now you get: ‘Have you tried asking ChatGPT?'”

This statement resonated deeply with me, but it also led me to ponder – does this new AI-powered era mean the end of traditional search engines? My take? Not quite. Instead, they’re transforming how we interact with them.
