Suburgatory: Season 1, Episode 14
This is going to sound a little bimbotic, but hey, I never said I was oh-so-matured, did I? I like pink, I go gaga over Hello Kitty and I’m a princess. Explains a lot.
So, according to Wikipedia (the oh-so-mighty sort of all knowledge, somewhat), the term “chick-flick” is a slang for a film genre mainly dealing with love and romance and designed to appeal to a largely female target audience – moi. Apparently, not many types of films may be directed toward the female gender, which is quite contradicting to the first sentence. It seems, or somewhat said to be, according to Wikipedia once again, “chick-flick” is typically used only in reference to films that are heavy with emotion or contain themes that are relationship-based (although not necessarily romantic as many other themes may be present).
If it were up to me, anything lightweight like Friends (which is a sitcom) would be categorised as chick-flick.
Why am I even talking about “chick-flicks”? Honestly, I just wanted to elaborate for the sake of elaborating. Typical, nothing better to write and trying to find something to write anyway, blog entry. Hurhur.
Suburgatory, not exactly a new sitcom, I’m guessing it’s a sitcom, I would generalise everything if I could, just so it simplify matters, but clearly that’s not going to work out. I think this is why I write the way I write, I somewhat role play characters of sitcoms in my head. Yes, I talk to myself, often. We even have arguments up there, in that enormous space within my supposedly huge head. Anyway, I caught it today, and love it.
Coming back.
The moral of this episode is kinda worthwhile, kinda. Don’t rush into sex, when you’re clearly not ready. Unless of course, sex is just a physical satisfaction and you somewhat require it to prevent doing even more ridiculous acts; you get my point.
Inner beauty over outer beauty, though I find we should somewhat pay a little attention to our appearance. I mean, it’s important and it’s really not that difficult. You can be big and beautiful too. And of course, till this day and date, Queen Bees still exist, sitcoms just overly stereotype them.
Sometimes, you need to step out of your comfort zone to achieve greater heights and possibly be happier.
I’m just ranting. So not geek, yet so geek.
